Photo Gear

My choice in camera is the Canon 7D

Made to be the tool of choice for serious photographers, the EOS 7D features an all-new 18.0 Megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor and Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors, capturing tremendous images at up to ISO 12800 and speeds of up to 8 fps. The EOS 7D has a new all cross-type 19-point AF system with improved AI Servo II AF subject tracking and user-selectable AF area selection modes for sharp focus no matter the situation.

My Favorite lens for shooting portraits is the Canon 70-200mm

There are MANY uses for the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM Lens, but portrait photography is one of the best. Classic portrait focal lengths range from 85mm to 135mm effective focal lengths (field of view crop factor included). The 70-200 f/4.0L lens comes with most (or all for full frame and 1.3x body users) of those mms included. I often use even higher focal lengths for tight portraits – 200mm and/or a 1.6x FOVCF body allows for these tightly-framed shots.

The 50mm Prime I love in low light situations. Such as shooting  bands in clubs. This lens is amazing. This is the lightest EF lens of all at a mere 4.6 oz. (130g). Compact and high-performance, standard lens. Its Gaussian optics provide sharp delineation from near to far focusing distances. The color balance is excellent for a standard lens.
My new toy is the Tamron 10-24mm

This ultra wide-angle zoom lens for digital SLR cameras, with the first-ever focal length range of 10-24mm-the 35mm equivalent of 16mm ultra wide-angle to 37mm semi-wide-angle-is a perfect tool for creating dramatic landscape, cityscape,a nd seascape imagery. At the ultra wide-angle setting, you’ll be able to capture vistas beyond what the eye can see. At the semi-wide-angle setting, you’ll capture scenes with angles of view almost as spectacular.

For my lighting gear. I use studio strobe lights. Sometimes continuous lights. I own a variety of light gear and I trigger my lights with Radiopoppers. One of my best pieces for light gear would be Igor our Russian Spy.
